Workshop on Automotive Electrical and Electronics and Electric Cars - A knowledge bridge between businesses, lecturers and students

Electric cars are considered an extremely effective and urgent solution in electrification of transportation sector, which is the main source of environmental pollution today, under pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are causing the earth to heats up every day to alarming levels. Grasping that trend, on the morning of November 2, 2023, the Faculty of Transportation Mechanical Engineering coordinated with Nexgen Solutions Company to organize a Workshop on Automotive Electrical and Electronics and Electric Cars.

Attending the workshop, there were Mr. Nguyen Hai Diep - Director of Nexgen Solutions Company and Mr. Dinh Ngoc Bao Toan - Head of Sales Department of Nexgen Solutions Company, Mr. Guido Weimer - Director of Automotive Technology Products of LD Didactic Company - Germany. On the side of the Faculty of Transportation Mechanical Engineering, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Thai – Dean, Dr. Phan Thanh Long - Deputy Dean, Dr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Dean and lecturers, students and graduate students of the Faculty.

In the opening speech of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Thai emphasized: the current boom in the development of electric vehicles following the trend of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is shaping a strategic direction for the global auto industry, including Vietnam. Electric vehicles demonstrate superiority with many advantages, including optimal energy efficiency, fuel cost savings, easy operation and low maintenance costs,... In addition, electric vehicles also plays an important role in the green transportation electrification revolution, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air and noise pollution, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote the development of enewable energy and sustainable development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Thai sent his thanks to Nexgen Solutions Company for coordinating to organize the workshop and sending experts to share knowledge. The workshop has important significance for teaching and learning in the automotive field of the Faculty of Transportation Mechanical Engineering. In addition to allowing lecturers and students to access new technology, the workshop is also a bridge between businesses and faculty, contributing to increasing interaction and exchange of academic information between experts, lecturers and students. He hopes that after the workshop, between Nexgen Solutions Company and UD-DUT will continue to develop cooperation in research, training and organizing specialized academic meetings.

At the conference, attendees heard 03 presentations from experts and lecturers of UD-DUT, including:

1. Topic: “Electrical - Electronics Automotive and Electric Vehicles: industrial reality, main trends, response in academic affairs” by Mr. Guido Weimer - Director of Automotive Technology Products of LD Didactic Company – Germany.

2. The topic "Electric Car Development Trends" was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Thai 

  1. Topic "Battery Technology for Electric Cars" presented by Dr. Hoang Thang, Dr. Luu Duc Lich and MSc. Truong Le Hoan Vu

The workshop attracted nearly 100 delegates to attend and discuss with experts, asking many questions related to Electric Cars.
