University of Science and Technology - The University of Da Nang (DUT-UD), established right after the national unification in 1975, has affirmed its own pioneering position in the higher education system of Vietnam and the region. The university is a training center for highly qualified scientific and technical staff and industrial managers, and also a leading center of scientific research and technology transfer in the Central region as well as the whole nation and regional area. more than 40 years of growth and development, the staff of engineers, architects, and bachelors who were trained by the University has spread to all parts of the Country and

made an important contribution to the cause of national construction and defense. The scientific research and technology transfer works of the staff and lecturers of the University have really been a contribution and a strong motivation for the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. Many of those works have been published in prestigious domestic and international journals, granted national and international patents, etc.

Along the spirit of solidarity of the University's staffs, students and graduate students, the achievements over the past 40 years have become an extremely solid foundation that helps the DUT-UD confidently enter the industrial revolution 4.0. The goals in the next period of the University is to become a research-oriented university; an innovative and creative university; a high-quality training institution of technical and technological science for undergraduate and graduate; providing learners with the best environment for higher education and scientific research, with high professionalism.

The University's training programs, high-quality training programs in especially, have been comprehensively and deeply innovated. With the project-based learning method of teaching, besides of professional knowledge block, students are also equipped with foreign languages and necessary skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creative ideas… This ensures students the ability to have a job and start-up after graduation; to participate in the highly competitive labor market in the country, the ASEAN economic community as well as in the world.

Activities of scientific research, technology transfer and international cooperation are also invested and promoted. Besides the research - teaching groups, the characteristic features of University of Science and Technology - the University of Danang, is the Polytechnic Institute of Science and Technology which plays a leading role in organizing and developing scientific and technological activities in the school. Along with international publications, the University's researches will focus on applying direction, contributing to turn the university campus into a Smart Campus, to be the core of constructing and developing Da Nang into a Smart City.
