Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide witnessed the MoU signing ceremony between FUJIKIN INCORPORATED and The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology on "Fujikin Danang R&D Center" Project

On October 19, 2020, FUJIKIN INCORPORATED - Japan (FUJIKIN) and The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology (DUT) signed a cooperation agreement under the witness of Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide and Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Government Office. The signing ceremony was held within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam by the Prime Minister of Japan.

This is the first overseas trip of Prime Minister Suga since he officially replaced former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in mid-September. Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide `s visit takes place in the context of Japan, Vietnam as well as other countries, seeking to promote economic cooperation to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic.

FUJIKIN and DUT have agreed to sign cooperation agreement of  "Fujikin Danang R&D Center" Project, buited in Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.

Based on relationship between Japan and Vietnam, FUJIKIN decided to construct and establish International Research and Development Center at Danang High Tech Park (Lot No. A14) in Danang city (herein after called as “R&D Center”). The total investment amount for this Project is estimated US$35,000,000 according to the planning.

Mr. Pham Truong Son, Head of Management Board of High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones of Da Nang, said the goal of the project is to research and develop high technology products, including different generations of robots with Artificial intelligence (AI), unmanned aerial vehicle with artificial intelligence (AI), Hydrogen new energy and environmental equipment and medical equipment.

According to the cooperation agreement, FUJIKIN will cooperate with DUT in training excellent human resources in Vietnam, that Da Nang city is concerned as a center for advanced technology development such as:

- Diffirent type of of robots (including unmanned aerial vehicle)

- Next generation high technology medical equipment

- Hydrogen energy

- New technology by using LED

- New information and communication technology

- Smart city, nano-material, most advanced material

    Fujikin will recruit excellent students from DUT to work at thefactory in Japan and Vietnam, and will promote personnel exchanges between FUJIKIN and DUT.

    FUJIKIN will recruit excellent engineers who graduated from DUT, under the recommendation of DUT to work as technical staff at the R&D Center, built in Danang High-Tech Park.

    FUJIKIN will provide Research Room for DUT in R&D Center used completely free for research and development purposes with FUJIKIN.

    DUT will prepare R&D room in science and technology building for FUJIKIN, that will facilitate FUJIKIN’s research equipment. R&D room is used to implement joint studies.

    In particular, the investment project to build the Fujikin Danang R&D Center will have the participation, instsruction and colaboration of the research group of Professor Amano Hiroshi, who has won The 2014 Nobel Prize for physics for the invention of blue light emitting diodes (LEDs). In the coming time, Professor Amano Hiroshi will discuss with DUT about the research directions to be implemented at R&D center.

      

    The R&D Center and Research Room equipped by FUJIKIN in DUT will be expected to complete the construction and start operation on and from April, 2022.

    The cooperation agreement between FUJIKIN and DUT promises to open up many job opportunities for DUT’s students in the coming years.
