UD-DUT students won 01 First prize, 01 Second prize - Science and Technology Award for students of higher education institutions in 2023

On November 10, at The University of Danang - University of Education and Technology, the Closing Ceremony and the awarding ceremony of Science and Technology Awards for students in Higher Education institutions in 2023 has been organized.

UD-DUT Students have excellently won 01 First prize, 01 Second prize - Science and Technology Award for students of higher education institutions in 2023. Thereby, the students have contributed to affirming Prestige, academic reputation, quality of academic and scientific research, that are the strengths of UD-DUT.

Science and Technology Award for Students in Higher Education Institutions in 2023 by the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vietnam Technical Innovation Support Fund - VIFOTEC) , organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. This year, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to award the hosting rights from the preliminary round (August 2023) to the final round (November 8-10, 2023) to The University of Da Nang.

This award has received support and response with nearly 10,000 topics from 103 higher education institutions across the country. At the end of the preliminary round, there were 481 topics in 06 fields of science and technology considered and selected for grading in the final round. Through strict review and evaluation, there are 428 topics that meet the criteria of the award.

428 topics are divided into 06 fields of science and technology, specifically: Natural science has 47 topics (02 Councils); Science, engineering and technology has 86 topics (03 Councils); Social sciences has 217 topics (04 Councils). The fields have 01 Council, including: Medical and pharmaceutical sciences: 35 topics; Humanities: 20 topics and Agricultural Sciences: 23 topics.

The Scientific Councils finally selected 85 topics from 45 higher education institutions and judged the final awards. The prize structure awarded this year includes: 16 First prizes; 68 Second prizes; 106 Third prizes and 164 Consolation prizes.

The first prize is awarded with a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training, a Creative Youth Badge from the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and 03 million VND/prize. At the same time, free use of Colud Serve infrastructure for 06 months with a value of 20 million VND.

The Second Prize was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, a bonus of 02 million VND/prize, and free use of Cloud Sever infrastructure for 06 months with a value of 10 million VND.

Third prize was awarded a Certificate of Merit by VIFOTEC Foundation.

The organizing committee awarded the second prize to the UD-DUT students

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 16 First prizes and 68 Second prizes, promptly praising and spreading excellent examples in student scientific research activities. In particular, the student project groups of Polytechnic University achieved high results with 01 First prize and 01 Second prize - Science and Technology Award for students of higher education institutions in 2023.

+ First prize belongs to the Project: "Building a fault diagnosis model for motors" (Project code: 405-202) by a group of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering: Tran Dinh Khoa, Luu Manh Tien, Nguyen Thanh Trung, Huynh Duc Anh Bao and Nguyen Tuan Phong, under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Ho Si Hung and Dr. Ngo Dinh Thanh - Lecturer of Electrical Engineering Faculty.

+ Second prize belongs to the Project: "Research, design and manufacture of powdered Ag metal sintering system for micro test samples" (Project code: 404-205) by a group of students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering: Nguyen Tri Hoa, Bui Trung Hieu, Nguyen Phuc Le Huy, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tao Quang Bang and MSc. Le Van Duong - Lecturer of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training - Nguyen Van Phuc and President of The University of Danang - Nguyen Ngoc Vu awarded Certificates of Merit to outstanding institutions in science and technology activities

With outstanding achievements in scientific and technological research activities, the Minister of Education and Training decided to award Certificates of Merit to 14 insitutions with outstanding achievements in students scientific research of in 2023, including UD-DUT.

Outstanding achievements, that UD-DUT has achieved recently, are winning 9/12 prizes of the contest "Flower and lighting decoration ideas for the 2024 Dragon Year Festival", First Prize of the contest " Student Green Architecture 2023", Second Prize of the programming competition SOICT HACKATHON 2023: AI4ALL and the Champion Cup of the ICPC 202 International Programming Contest, First Prize and Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award for for students of higher education institutions in 2023. Those achievements have affirmed that UD-DUT is a reliable institution in training high-quality scientific, technical and technological human resources of the Central region – Central Highlands as well as over the country.
