Strengthening the partnership in research and education between University of Science and Technology - UD (DUT) and University of Technology of Troyes - France

On December 7th, 2022, the delegation of University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) led by Prof. Farouk Yalaoui – Senior Director of Research of UTT, Prof. Lionel Amodeo - Director of LIST3N Research Team, Dr. Nhan Quy Nguyen - Senior Researcher of Chaire Connected Innovation, Dr. Yassine Ouazene - Maître de Conférence, S.G. of Chaire Connected Innovation visited and worked with Danang University of Science and Technology – UD (DUT). The delegation team from DUT includes Assoc. Prof. Doan Quang Vinh – the Rector, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dinh Lam –Chairman of University Council, and Head of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, Director of Learning Resources and Communication Center, and lecturers, researchers from the Faculty of Project Management, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

At the panel discussion held on December 7th, researchers from UTT shared their main research directions in fields of logistics and supply chain, optimization in production management, textile and garment industry, healthcare, data mining, smart data, industry 4.0, transitions, etc., as well as 05 research platforms of UTT. Lecturers, alumnis and final-year students of Industrial Management Division - Faculty of Project Management also shared their research directions using data provided by businesses. The researchers discussed presentations and research topics at the FVTech 2.1.

The panel discussion also aimed to make network connections between research groups of the two universities with businesses in fields of textile and garment industry, healthcare and information technology. Accompanying the UTT delegation was Dr. Hicham Chehade - CEO of OPTA-LP Company, Troyes. On the side of businesses from Da Nang city, there were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh - Deputy General Director of Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Cooperation, Mr. Phan Bao Son - Head of Information Technology Department - Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. This was a great opportunity to extend network connections between researchers and these businesses.

During the visit and work at DUT, a hybrid meeting was held with UTT researchers in Troyes and other delegates in DUT meeting room to discuss contents of the international joint research team, as well as the main contents of memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in research and education drafted by the two sides. Furthermore, potential research directions, cooperation opportunities for the international joint research team, technology transfer, and co-supervising were discussed to be integrated in the MOU on scientific research cooperation. The two sides also discussed contents drafted in a MOU on education. In the near future, UTT will support DUT in completing the training program, syllabuses, teaching logistics and supply chain undergraduate program at DUT, and students and lecturers exchanges.

Leaders of DUT and UTT strongly supported the partnership between the two institutions and looked forward to promoting more activities of the international joint research team in the near future. It is expected that the two MOUs on research and education would be completed by the end of January 2023, following bythe signing ceremony of the MOU in early February 2023.

Previously, in 2020, Prof. Farouk Yalaoui and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dinh Lam initially implemented the partnership between the two universities. Next, in 2021, the first FVTech virtual seminar was held due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Recently, in September 2022, the DUT delegation visited and worked at UTT and held the 2nd FVTech hybrid seminar.
