With the aim to help high school students have the opportunity to access new scientific and technological knowledge and contribute to the development of high-quality human resources for the future of the locality and the country, the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST) - University of Science and Technology - University of Danang in collaboration with Digital Innovation Lab (DILab) awarded 100 scholarships for the online course "Experiencing the Artificial Intelligence in 1 week" (AI in One Week) (worth 4 million VND/person) for high school students in Da Nang city and Quang Nam province. This is one of the activities in the program of Cooperation to develop innovative, creative and entrepreneurship education activities of FAST with high schools in Quang Nam and Da Nang.

The AI in One Week training course started on August 22, 2021 with the participation of 96 excellent students who passed more than 260 applications. The selection results are based on the registration records of the students, demonstrating the achievements, the spirit of passion for learning and the basic programming ability required by the course. The program is organized in the form of online and integrated learning under the guidance of Experts who are lecturers of DILab Research Department; FAST and AI enterprises such as TAPIT Engineering Co., Ltd; LYDINC Company Limited Participating in this course, students were familiar with the Python programming language; Google Colab platform; Artificial intelligence and applications.

The course is expected to start in the summer of 2021. However, due to the Covid epidemic situation, it has been changed to online training, and the course organizers have prepared an online training platform to ensure interoperability and support students to learn most effectively.  With the students' passion for learning and absorbing enthusiasm, the Organizing Committee hopes that they have acquired and developed knowledge and skills about Artificial Intelligence for themselves after completing the training course. . Thereby, the students will continue to nurture their passion for scientific research, the spirit of continuously improving knowledge and skills to develop their own capacity, spread the knowledge they have learned and contribute to the development of the local and national community.

FAST would like to express its sincere thanks to the Directors of Quang Nam Department of Education and Training, Leaders of Departments, Boards and Principals of High Schools in Quang Nam and Da Nang City for their support and create conditions for them to successfully complete the course. FAST hopes to continue to accompany high schools in Quang Nam and Da Nang in innovative and creative educational activities in the coming time.
