STUDENT NGUYEN VAN NHAN PARTICIPATES IN SAKURA SCIENCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN JAPAN

Nguyen Van Minh Nhan, a student of class 17ECE - Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology was honored to be selected to participate in the Sakura Science exchange program, organized by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and conducted by The Univerisity of Electro -Communications. The show takes place from October 27 to November 2, 2019 in Japan.

Previously, in September, professors from Japan National University of Yokohama and the representative office of Yokohama in Da Nang coordinated to organize a 1-week intensive course at DUT.  FAST Students have been studying by the method of theory combined with experiment on Robot. Besides, the students also have access to the content of mechanical tools and thermodynamics. The classroom format is not only teaching theory but also combining on-site practice, which has brought many new and interesting things to students. Students who actively participate in the course at Polytechnic University will have the opportunity to be selected to participate in the Sakura Science program at Yokohama University, Japan and be supported with the entire cost of the trip. With a good academic spirit as well as certain contributions to the success of the course in 2018, Nguyen Van Minh Nhan was selected and recommended by the leadership of the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology to participate in the Sakura Science program in October this year.

Nhan's favorite sport is football. With an 'extremely modest' height of just over 1m80, Nhan is a solid stopper, a defender who is also a sweeping defender with his 'short' stride, a reliable support for his teammates and a source of fear of every opposing striker.

Always one of the excellent students with outstanding academic achievements and extra-curricular activities, having participated in volunteer work at events such as STEMCON, IRON MAN 70.3 Vietnam from 2018 to present, this students has been recorded with many remarkable achievements. 

Outstanding Achievements

In Faculty activities, with his intelligence, alertness and sociability, Minh Nhan is trusted by members and the advisory board to be the head of the Soft Skills - CAPS-Skill Division of the Community of Advanced Program Students (CAPS). ). Regarding school activities, Nhan surpassed many excellent student candidates of the University of Technology (DUT) to be named in the list of 27 DUT students participating in the Learning Express 2018 (LeX IV) program organized by Singapore Polytechnic School in collaboration with DUT. This year, following the tradition of LeX, Minh Nhan continues to return to be a Training Supporter for the junior generation about learning and applying Design Thinking method.

Not stopping there, on the scientific research front, Minh Nhan also has excellent achievements. In 2018 Minh Nhan participated in the RoboDNIC competition as a Technical Instructor for high school students. It is known that this year, Minh Nhan's team has reached the quarterfinals.

On November 1, 2018, CAPS-Tech held the Maze Runner robot competition 2018 with more than 10 powerful teams from FAST. The pathfinder of Minh Nhan group excellently won the Consolation prize. After the contest that day, Minh Nhan shared: "The time that my team invested in developing this robot is not much, so the group is really happy and surprised with this award! Attending for the first time and winning the consolation prize was beyond our expectations.”

When asked about his thoughts on his trip to Japan in October, Minh Nhan shared: "Being chosen by the faculty is a blessing for me. I will try my best to exchange and learn to gain experience and share it with others.”
