The Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology is oriented towards applied research associated with innovation

FAST  with its strategic orientation of applied research, innovation and digital transformation has been responded to by faculty and students through many domestic and international science and technology activities. Science and technology achievements of FAST Faculty in 2020 are marked by the quantity and quality of scientific research works with 3 articles in the ISI Scopus catalog, more than 10 reports at prestigious international conferences published in Springer, IEEE.

Faculty members were invited to be keynote speakers at “Virtually 2020 International Conference on Health Informatics, Medical, Biological Engineering, and Pharmaceutical” presenting research results and trends in artificial intelligence application in the medical field. health care and support treatment and diagnosis.

Accompanying the University to strengthen international cooperation in scientific research and training, the lecturers and researchers of the FAST and other Faculties in the University of Science and Technology-UD have actively participated in many international projects, including: there was an online conference on scientific research and training with Troyes Technical University (France). FAST members presented research results and discussed proposing cooperation models in the fields of: New Materials and Smart Energy, Digital Healthcare, Smart Data and Smart Production.

Recognizing the important role of the University of Science and Technology - UD in providing human resources, applied research, and smart city development for Da Nang City, the research labs operated by faculty of FAST Faculty have concluded cooperates with the DNIIT International Institute of Technology and other units of the University of Science and Technology - UD to participate in policy consultation, development of science and technology programs, and implementation of scientific research projects with the Department of Information and Communication, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and other departments and agencies to jointly create momentum for Da Nang to build an urban government with a focus on convenience, connecting businesses, bringing many conveniences for the people.

In order to arouse students' passion for science and technology and apply digital technology in construction and development of Da Nang City, Lab SmU2SmC has cooperated with DNIIT Institute and Department of Information and Communication - Da Nang City. Nang organized the training course "Artificial Intelligence in Smart City Development" attracting more than 200 participants from Da Nang and the provinces and cities in the Central region https://sites.google.com/view/ai-smartcity-course/home. Da Nang city sets a goal by 2025 to smarten applications; By 2030, to intelligentize community applications. In addition, Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo on construction and development of Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045 identifies, by 2030, Da Nang complete the construction of a smart city synchronously connected with smart urban networks in the country and in the ASEAN region.

In this year 2020, FAST Faculty officially announced the scientific research website platform FAST Innovation Lab https://sites.google.com/view/fast-innovation-lab/home with useful resources for cooperation Scientific research between related parties, including:
