Workshop on sharing experiences on registration of S&T projects, Postdoctoral Fellowships (POSTDOC), PhD and Master sponsored by VINIF

On the morning of December 23, 2022, University of Science and Technology - UD held a workshop to share experiences in writing, submitting Science and Technology projects as well as preparing applications for scholarships after PhD, PhD students and Master's students. Sponsored by Vingroup Innovation Fund.

Attending the seminar, from the University of Science and Technology, UD, there were: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Quang Vinh – Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai – Vice Rector; Dr. Tao Quang Bang – Head of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Dieu Hang – Deputy Head of Department in charge of Training Department; with interested faculty and students. On the side of Vingroup Innovation Fund (VinIF), there was Ms. Tran Thi Trang - Head of Project Management Department of Vingroup Innovation Fund.

Speaking at the event, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Quang Vinh – Rector of the University shared that “The Vingroup Innovation Fund (VinIF) was established in 2018. Up to now, the University's lecturers have received funding from VINIF including 03 projects. in Science and Technology worth more than 12,000,000,000 VND, 04 postdoctoral scholarships (Postdoc) (360 million VND/year), 25 scholarships for masters and doctorates. However, the number of these scholarships is still small compared to the potential of University of Science and Technology. With the desire to have more teachers receive funding from VinIF, the University organized a seminar to provide new information from the Vingroup Innovation Fund as well as listen to the sharing of experiences from other teachers. teachers have been sponsored by VinIF”.

Tran Thi Trang – Head of Project Management Department of Vingroup Innovation Fund said: “The Vingroup Innovation Fund aims to support young scientists and talents from universities and research institutes. science, technology and innovation in the fields of science, technology, engineering, medicine, economics and education to create positive and sustainable changes for Vietnam. Currently, in addition to the program of sponsoring S&T projects and scholarships: Master, PhD, post-doctoral, there are also 05 other sponsorship programs such as: cooperation, sponsoring events and seminars; short courses and visiting professors; sponsor and cooperate in Master's training; preserve cultural and historical values. She hopes that in the future, many lecturers of the University will receive support from VinIF not only for scholarships and S&T projects but also in other programs.

The content of the seminar consisted of 04 presentations: Introduction of sponsorship programs of VinIF reported by Ms. Tran Thi Trang - Head of Project Management Department of Vingroup Innovation Fund; Sharing experiences in writing VinIF's S&T project led by Dr. Ngo Ngoc Tri - Faculty of Project Management presented; Sharing experiences in submitting VinIF Postdoctoral Fellowships (Postdoc) by Dr. Le Thi Phuong Mai - Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications and Dr. Pham Ngoc Quang - Faculty of Traffic Mechanics presented; Share your experience in applying for the VinIF Doctoral Scholarship awarded by NCS. Tran Thi Phuong Anh - Faculty of Road and Bridge Construction presented.

At the end of the seminar, the delegates participated in exchanges and discussions with speakers around the sponsorship programs of Vingroup's Innovation Fund. It is hoped that after this seminar, many scientists and lecturers of the University will receive funding from VinIF.
