Functions and duties of the Department of Academic Affairs

1 Functions

The Department of Academic Affairs has the function of advising and assisting the Rector in the organization and management of all training activities of the school, at all levels, systems and types of training.

2. Mission

2.1. Advise on training strategy planning

Coordinate with the management units of the University to research and propose to the School Administrator the goals and orientation of training development, the level and type of training, the structure of the training industry, and identify the sources of raining service.

2.2. Develop training management documents

Preside over the development of training management documents according to the regulations on elaboration and promulgation of internal legal documents of the University of Danang, submit them to the Rector for signing and promulgate according to his/her authority or prepare for the Rector to submit to the superior management of documents, regulations, projects related to training (including documents related to training funding).

2.3. Organizing, building and managing programs and curricula

Management of training programs. Presiding over the organization of building new and updating training programs (except for special programs under the management of the Center of Excellence);

Making a plan on building a new curriculum; select, browse and purchase textbooks;

Guide and support faculties on procedures for opening new majors and new programs according to current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the University of Danang;

2.4. Recruitment organization

To organize the implementation of the tasks of enrollment under the general management of the University of Danang, including: Prepare information; formulating plans and plans; promoting activities of introduction, enrollment consultation; participate in organizing the exam under the management of the Admission Council of the University of Danang; consulting and receiving applications; Admission;

Organize admission for successful students, set up classes, coordinate with Student Affairs Department to post-check priority students, train new students to use the University's student information system.

2.5. Develop training plan and organize training

Coordinating internal and external faculties and training partners to develop training plans for the course, academic year and each semester;

Lecture, schedule, organize registration for regular students, schedule final exams, manage the use of classrooms;

Handling academic affairs, such as receiving applications and handling academic assignments for students, including: postponement of exams, additional exams, temporary leave, withdrawal, return to school, change of training system, change of training levels create, transfer schools and prepare decisions related to the management of student learning process,…. Support international students and students under the contract of training. Guiding and supporting procedures to prepare student delegations for internships;

2.6. Managing learning processes and outcomes

Manage the list of class activities, class sections. Coordinating in organizing the entry of scores and managing the scores, including: checking and monitoring the score entry data; handle the student's application for correction of grades, application for transfer of grades, reservation of scores, and re-examination of students; original transcript storage;

Process study results at the end of each semester, synthesize, store data and publish to students. Issuing certificates of study results, transcripts, graduation certificates;

Coordinating with the Department of Testing and Quality Assurance in organizing general exams for the whole school; entrance exams to special programs; language proficiency test...

2.7. Management of issuing diplomas and certificates

Prepare documents to organize graduation project grading committees, graduation consideration and graduation recognition. Prepare documents for receipt of embryos and manage and use embryos of diplomas and certificates received from the University of Danang. Print the original, a copy of the diploma and submit it to the Principal for signature. Print and issue graduation transcripts, professional certificates, certificates of learning results;

Manage information about diplomas and certificates granted; publish information online, certify and confirm information on diplomas and certificates granted;

2.8. Support in the management of training costs

Proposing tuition and fees levels. Detailed management of tuition fees each student must pay each semester. Coordinate with the Department of Planning and Finance and banking partners to collect tuition fees;

Calculation of all kinds of training costs (teaching hours, exams, internships, project guidance, project approval, graduation councils, programs, textbooks,...).

Drafting, submitting to the School Administrator to sign and manage joint training contracts for degree granting and training courses for certification and certification.

2.9. Other duties

Compiling and printing publications in service of training;

Effectively manage and use the system of facilities and equipment of the room;

Building, developing and providing technical support to operators using the training management software system (LAN and websites);

Coordinating with units in the school to perform tasks related to the unit's scope of work and other tasks as assigned by the Rector
