The annual meeting between The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology and the French University Consortium in the framework of the National Council on PFIEV Improvement 2023
On the afternoon of 22 November 2023, The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology and the French University Consortium organized an annual meeting in the framework of the National Council on PFIEV Improvement 2023. The aim of this meeting is to report the implementation of activities of the PFIEV program in the academic year of 2022 – 2023 as well as propose the implementing plan for the next year.

The honored guests were Dr. Do Kim Thanh, Dean of the faculty of French, The University of Foreign Language Studies; Mr. Samuel Delameziere, Director of the French Insitute at Danang. The participants of UD-DUT includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai – Vice-Rector, the representatives from affiliated departments: Academic affairs, Administration and Personnel, Education Testing and Quality Assurance, Science, Technology and International Cooperation and the representatives from faculties: Advanced Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Inforation technology, together with lecturers of the PFIEV program.

Speaking at the opening of the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Rector, warmly welcomed the french delegation to attend the annual meeting of the National Council on PFIEV improvement 2023 between UD-DUT and the French University Consortium. At the same time, the rector thanked the partners of the PFIEV Consortium for their help and support to the university in training and general affairs of the Consortium in past times and looked forward to continuing to receive this precious support from the partners in training, scientific research and building joint projects in the coming time.
Mr. Thibaut Skrzypek, Coordinator of the French University Consortium, ENPC, expressed his appreciation for the University’s thoughtful welcome to the delegation and expected that through this meeting both parties could find agreements on the implementing plan in the academic year of 2023 – 2024.

At the meeting, Dr. Le Quoc Huy, responsible of the PFIEV program, presented a report on the implementation of activities of the PFIEV program in the 2022-2023 school year and orientations for improving the program (HCERES accreditation, enterpise cooperation, ...) in the 2023-2024 school year.

After listening to the report, the delegates discussed issues including training, enrollment, graduate results, investment in facilities, and cooperation in school accreditation; lecturer and student exchange program; promoting cooperation with French businesses operating in Vietnam... Accordingly, the two sides agreed to coordinate to implement the contents in the 2023 - 2024 school year, including:
- Continue to review and improve the quality of practical and experimental modules through solutions such as repairing and upgrading laboratory equipment, effectively managing the use of existing laboratory equipment between departments; Make the most of the lecturer exchange program between the two consortia (MCA program, exchange program for French professors to work in Vietnam).
- Strengthen communication and promotion of the PFIEV program: promote communications to high schools (teachers and students).
- Strengthen cooperation with businesses: improve the quality of internships at businesses and graduation projects at businesses; Meet with businesses at least once a year; Consider establishing the PFIEV Business Council and effectively deploy MoUs signed with businesses.
- Continue to cooperate with the French Institute in Da Nang in teaching French to students.
- With the orientation of becoming a training center for semiconductor chip technology, UD-DUT will coordinate with partners within the French University Consortium to build advanced training programs in the field of semiconductors as well as to strengthen cooperation in scientific research and development of semiconductor products.
Also within the framework of this meeting, UD-DUT signed a student exchange cooperation agreement with Grenoble INP - UGA. Accordingly, the university students will have more opportunities to participate in exchange programs between the two parties such as graduation internship programs and graduation projects at French businesses.

The meeting ended successfully, the delegates exchanged and discussed enthusiastically, giving many valuable comments to improve and sustainably develop PFIEV - The training program is considered the most successful in cooperation on higher education between France and Vietnam.
