1. General information 

Undergraduate Program in Natural Resource and Environment Management (NREM) was launched in 2009. The general objective of the training program is to train learners with political and ethical qualities; have knowledge, professional practice skills, capacity to research and develop application of science and technology in the field of natural resources and environment management; capable of lifelong learning; have creative ability and professional responsibility, adapt to the working environment; to have a healthy body; consciously serving the community, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and international integration.

2. Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes 

2.1. Program Objectives (POs)

The NREM program aims to train graduates of university-level training programs in Natural Resource and Environment Management:

  1. Having comprehensive professional knowledge in the field of natural resources and environment management; master the principles and laws of nature - society to meet the needs of environmental protection and sustainable exploitation of natural resources.
  2. Having basic practical skills related to environmental and natural resource management.
  3. Able to work independently and creatively; capable of teamwork; capable of solving management, technological and technical problems in the field of natural resources and environment.

 

2.2. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Graduates of the university-level training program majoring in Natural Resource and Environment Management of the University of Science and Technology - the University of Danang, who meet the requirements of level 6 output standards according to the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework, have the ability to:

  1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, basic science, technology and engineering in practice, analysis, evaluation and research on issues in the field of natural resources and environment management.
  2. Think critically, creatively, and start-up in the specialized field.
  3. Be responsible and ethical, behave professionally in dealing with specialized situations.
  4. Have a foreign language proficiency TOEIC 450 or equivalent; have basic information technology skills as prescribed in Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT.
  5. Work in groups; Able to communicate effectively and use foreign languages in the field of natural resource and environmental management.
  6. Apply management tools and legal regulations to solve problems in the field of natural resources and environment management.
  7. Manage the environment of enterprises, industrial parks and urban centers; organize the implementation of solutions to manage occupational safety, minimize risks in professional activities in accordance with the context of the enterprise, society and the environment.

   

3. Job opportunities

Students graduate from university (Bachelor) in Natural Resource and Environment Management are suitable for the following job positions:

  1. Officials and experts in environmental and natural resource management at state management agencies: Ministry/Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry/Department of Science and Technology, Department of Transport, Environmental Police Schools, Management Boards of Urban Areas, Management Boards of Export Processing Zones - Industrial Parks, Divisions of Natural Resources and Environment.
  2. In charge of Environment, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health and Safety-OH&S management system at Urban Environment Company, Factories, Enterprises, Industrial Zones/Clusters .
  3. In charge of consulting, designing, constructing, managing environmental protection works, dealing with environmental pollution issues, protecting and rationally using resources at consulting companies. environment, the Company provides environmental and resource services.
  4. Participating in teaching courses in the field of Environmental and Resource Management at universities, colleges, professional and vocational schools.
  5. Officers and researchers at institutes, schools or training and research centers related to technology, environment and resource management.

4. Ability to improve qualifications

Graduates of this program can apply for master's and doctoral programs in the same and related fields.

7. Training process

The training program is structured according to the credit system. The training process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the University of Danang and Danang University of Science and Technology. Training period for 4 years. Each academic year consists of two main semesters (mid-August to late June) and summer semester (early July to mid-August). In the first 2 years, students learn foreign languages with basic knowledge and industry foundations. In the next 2 years, students continue to study specialized knowledge and carry out graduation projects.

8. Program implementation guidelines

The program complies with the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology on university training in the form of credits. This program is periodically reviewed, revised and adjusted to meet the industry's development and social needs.

9. Graduation Conditions

Based on the Article 25, Decision No. 564/DHBK-DT dated on May 17th, 2013 by the Rector of DUT, students will be offered with the “Degree of Bachelor in Natural Resource and Environment Management” if meeting all requirements consisting of:

  1. Neither under any criminal prosecution nor any disciplinary period as suspension up to the point of graduation consideration;
  2. Already accumulated enough number of modules and volumes of the training program;
  3. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the course is no less than 2.0 (4.0 points scale);
  4. Satisfying the requirements on academic results of modules in accordance with the major training concentration approved by the Rector;
  5. Having a foreign language proficiency TOEIC 450 or equivalent;
  6. Having basic information technology skills as prescribed in Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT;
  7. Obtaining a certificate from the National Defense Education;
  8. Obtaining certificate of the Physical Education.
